Selena Gomez Went Edgy With Patent Leather Nails at the 2024 Golden Globes

And a red hot dress.

Very few people can say they are still a red carpet mainstay over a decade into their career. However, Selena Gomez certainly can. The multi-hyphenate is now a highlight at any and all major red carpets, bringing her signature glamour to every event since her Teen Choice Awards days, to today at the 2024 Golden Globes.
This time around, Gomez is nominated for Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for her role as Mabel Mora in the hit Hulu drama, Only Murders in the Building. Though this is not her first time being nominated for the category, that doesn’t make it any less of an honor. So, of course, she showed up on the red carpet already looking like a winner.

To pose for pictures and mingle with all the A-listers, Gomez arrived in a fitted red dress by Armani. Made of shiny satin, it had a a criss cross neckline with peak-a-boo moment across her chest and torso. Down the center of the garment was a handful of sparkly black roses at all the points the criss-crosses intersected. The skirt added even more drama, with an asymmetrical slant and a train forming off to the side. She accessorized the look with blinged-out bangles and, during the ceremony, JW Pei’s Gabbi Artificial Crystal Medium Ruched Hobo Handbag ($129).

The black continued onto her eye makeup. One part smoky eye, one part “rockstar girlfriend” makeup, her eyes were dusted with with a grayish-black pigment the continued from her inner corner to above the wing. Closer to the waterlines the pigment got more concentrated, helping frame her eyes along with some coats of black mascara. Her whole face, expertly applied by Melissa Murdick, was curtesy of Rare Beauty of course.

When she was nominated for the category last year, Gomez wore just as stunning of an outfit but also celebrated with her sister, Gracie, walking the red carpet with her arm and arm—like the best big sister.
In 2023, Gomez’s look was detailed down to her fingertips. The star wore a dark yet ethereal black velvet gown with a trailing purple train. Her hair was swept up in a high, wavy pony to give us the perfect look at her glam—a pale purple smoky eye with fluttering lashes and mauve lips.
However, her nails were the star of the show. Done by her go-to nail artist, Tom Bachik, was a pale, nude almond-shaped manicure—but what made them shine was the dusting of Swarovski crystals on each finger, giving a golden glow for the Golden Globes.
